Exodus Lending works with financially excluded Minnesotans to advance economic justice through consumer lending, community organizing, and advocacy. Exodus Lending’s loan programs offer affordable alternatives and create conditions for greater economic security, with a particular focus on those that the current consumer credit system excludes and exploits, primarily low-income communities and communities of color. Exodus Lending is a unique nonprofit lender addressing inequities in Minnesota’s financial marketplace through a two-tiered approach: its Resiliency and Refinancing Loan Programs offer immediate relief to Minnesotans experiencing financial stress and trauma, while its fiscally sponsored, nonpartisan advocacy coalition, Minnesotans for Consumer Financial Protection (MCFP), invites impacted communities in to reform financially extractive and exclusionary structures and systems. As of July 2026, Exodus Lending has served 1,200 participants statewide, with an average intake credit score of 476, and more than 60% identifying as Black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC).
